The Asylum may not be in the business of making superhero mockbusters but relative newcomers Halcyon International Pictures are ready to fill the void. I first reported on their METAL MAN last year. Now new artwork has appeared on Halcyon's website. I assume this means the film is in some further stage of production. I have to say "assume" because there's no other information about METAL MAN.

"A research scientist, trapped in a bio-helmet that can never be removed, seeks revenge on the man who robbed him of his work, family, and his identity."

Now that's what I call clever budget conscience filmmaking. Gonna rip-off IRON MAN but don't have an IRON MAN budget? Just encase the hero's head in armor! I look forward to finding out whether or not the helmet has any superpowers or if the revenge-minded scientist just goes around headbutting bad guys to death.

My advice to the bad guys: aim low.
